Villa Vie Residences has once again postponed the start-up date for its first ship, the Villa Vie Odyssey, with reports indicating a new scheduled start-up date of June 21, 2024.

The Villa Vie Odyssey, currently undergoing drydock at Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast, was originally planned to commence service in Southampton on May 15 but has faced multiple delays.

Villa Vie’s COO Kathy Villalba acknowledged the challenges faced, attributing the delays to drydock extensions and last-minute issues, such as an unexpected problem with the ship’s rudder posts that arose on June 3, leading to the latest postponement.

Despite the setbacks, Villa Vie has assured transparency with residents and provided support by arranging housing, transportation, including trips to the Canary Islands. The Villa Vie Odyssey, acquired in March after four years out of service, offers a unique residential cruising experience.
