Six Belfast venues and experiences were recognized at the city’s first Inclusive Tourism Awards for their efforts to support disabled visitors, announced during the Embrace the Inclusive Spirit seminar at Titanic Belfast.

A public vote determined the winners. The Black Box was acknowledged for Going the Extra Mile, Titanic Belfast awarded for Most Useful Visitor Information, and the Balmoral Hotel won the Best Stay award.

The event, attended by over 120 operators and hospitality providers, featured speakers discussing strategies for welcoming visitors with disabilities and emphasized the economic advantages of catering to the purple euro.

Belfast City Council’s Embrace the Inclusive Spirit program, part of a ten-year tourism plan, offers resources and training for businesses to enhance inclusivity, signaling a commitment to making Belfast a welcoming destination for all visitors.
