The Waterford City and County Council has approved €1,653,557 in festival and event funding for 2024, marking a 6pc increase from last year.
The funding aims to develop and promote events that have economic, cultural, artistic, tourism, or community benefits for Waterford.
It will support 71 festivals and events throughout the city and county, with training support available to help them grow. In addition to well-established festivals like Spraoi and Winterval,
Waterford will see fourteen new festivals in 2024, including the Lismore Community Festival, Waterford International Comic Art Festival, and Waterford Pet Awards and Doggie Day Out.
Waterford has earned the title of European City of Christmas for 2024 and looks forward to a vibrant calendar of festivals.
