Whitbread has received planning permission for its largest hub by Premier Inn property to date, featuring 693 rooms located at 5 Strand, close to Charing Cross station and Trafalgar Square.
The site currently has a partially demolished office block and is opposite the Co-Op on the Strand, previously designated for a luxury 200-room Park Hyatt hotel.
The new hotel will operate under the hub by Premier Inn brand, which offers compact rooms approximately half the size of standard Premier Inn accommodations.
Launched in Covent Garden in 2014, the hub by Premier Inn brand has expanded to 18 hotels across London and Edinburgh, including a recent dual-branded property near Paddington station.
