The Windstar Star Seeker has departed from the West Sea shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, for sea trials.
The 10,000-ton, 224-guest vessel will undergo manoeuvring, speed, safety, and technical system tests over several days. Delivery is planned later this year, with the first guests arriving in late December.
It will complete a trans-Atlantic crossing before starting seven- to 14-night Caribbean cruises from Miami and Puerto Rico to the Windward and Leeward Islands. In April, the itinerary shifts to Central America, then crosses the Panama Canal for an Alaska summer season.
Christopher Prelog shared: “Our goal was to ensure these ships are unmistakably Windstar, and a significant amount of effort has gone into achieving this.”
