A woman with a mastectomy has claimed she was forced to remove her breast prosthesis in public view at Dublin Airport after it set off new security scanners.
The woman, Réaltán Ní Leannáin, was traveling from Dublin to Donegal when the incident occurred, causing her distress and embarrassment.
The airport apologized for the incident, stating that all passengers have the right to request a private search in such situations.
The airport has launched an investigation and stated that steps have been taken to ensure a similar situation is avoided in the future, promising a more positive experience for Ms Ní Leannáin.
