
Bantry Bay Port Company has begun the cruise season with the arrival of the World Explorer.
A total of 14 cruise lines are scheduled to visit Bantry Bay during the 2025 season, bringing over 6,000 passengers and crew from around the globe.
The World Explorer will anchor in Bantry Inner for the duration of its visit, highlighting the port’s capability to accommodate cruise vessels.
Michael Murphy, the harbour master, expressed optimism about the strong season ahead and the positive impact on local businesses and tourism.
Collaboration between the Port of Cork and Bantry Bay Port aims to enhance cruise tourism in the region, with Bantry establishing itself as an important destination on Ireland’s cruise map.
Michael Murphy sharded: “We’re very pleased to welcome the World Explorer to Bantry Bay and officially launch the 2025 cruise season. Each arrival is an opportunity to showcase the beauty and hospitality of this region, and we look forward to giving every visitor a warm West Cork welcome.”
