The latest SOAR survey by Fáilte Ireland reveals that 59pc of participants are indicating that revenue from North American visitors has decreased. Just 19pc of businesses felt North American revenues were higher than in 2024.

Other markets, including Rest of Europe (52pc), England (52pc), France (55pc) and Germany (53pc), also indicated decline in revenue in the survey, with no markets showing substantial growth.

Many operators, particularly in the Wild Atlantic Way region, indicated a substantial revenue decrease compared to the previous year. Overall 54pc of operators in every Irish region said they believed their revenues were down compared to 45pc.

The SOAR (Situation & Outlook Analysis Report) survey is the most important indication of business sentiment in the tourism and hospitality industries.
