The organisation has described the measures as temporary steps to support the industry through the current situation together with more long-term planning to prepare for the future. Ourania Georgoutsakou has led the call on behalf of the group. The European Union has held no jurisdiction over aviation taxes which national governments have set.

Ourania Georgoutsakou shared “These are temporary measures to weather us through the current situation, plus more long-term planning to be prepared for the future.”
