Aer Lingus plans to carry Ireland’s Oscar nominees ahead of Sunday’s ceremony in Los Angeles, to showcase their artistry on the green carpet in the airport ahead of the red carpet of the Dolby Theatre.

Cinematographer Robbie Ryan, nominated for his work on ‘Poor Things’ starring Emma Stone participated in a photoshoot in advance of the event. The film produced by Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe’s Element Productions received 11 nominations in all. Cillian Murphy has been nominated for Oppenheimer in the best actor category.

Aer Lingus photoshoots of last year’s Oscar nominees, when Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon and Paul Mescal all scored nominations,  generated nationwide publicity for the airline and the 5w direct service from Dublin direct to Los Angeles, with plans to increase flights to daily for the summer. Aer Lingus will operate 18 routes from Ireland to North America in 2024, including the return of Minneapolis St Paul and a new direct flight to Denver.

At Aer Lingus, we make every journey count, and this week, our Oscar nominees are embarking on one of their most important journeys as they travel to LA to represent Ireland at the most iconic movie awards in the world. Our Aer Lingus crews will go above and beyond to make it a memorable experience, and we wish Robbie, and all Irish nominees the very best of luck. We hope to have an extra seat to carry the golden statues on the flight home to Dublin from LA!”
