Air Canada reported a record summer as it celebrates Canada Day. The airline emphasises the consistency of its product using Boeing 787-9 on Toronto and Vancouver and 787-8 on Montreal.
“It means passengers know exactly what to expect,” Irish sales manager Bláithin O’Donnell says. “The Dreamliner 787-900 is a dream product because it means that we have a consistency, in product, consistency in cabins. Both Vancouver and Toronto are using the 900 series and Montreal is operated using the 800 series.“
In Summer 2025, the airline will increase services from Dublin to Canada, particularly for routes to Vancouver and Montreal.
The Vancouver route operates five times a week during peak season from June to September and extend its operating season from May to October.
The Montreal route has increased to four weekly flights departing Dublin on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays while maintaining a daily service to Toronto year-round. Promotion Air Canada’s winter connections to sun destinations via Toronto is a focus of the airline’s irish promotions for 2025. They include San Juan in Costa Rica, Varadero in Cuba, Punta Cana in Dominican Republic, Nassau in Jamaica and Cancun in Mexico.
Demand for travel between Ireland and Canada has driven the expansion of flight frequencies and operating seasons, offering connections to the Caribbean, Mexico, and the US. Costa Rica was a surprise favourite among Irish passengers and Punta Cano has proven a popular connection in winter. Connections through Toronto are timed for a minimum of one hour and five mintes. Passengers do not need to go through Canadian immigration but do require the Canadian ETA to connect. It costs $7 and is valid for five years or duration of passport life.
Air Canada hosted select media at an event in Dublin where they were served, among other highlights, pastries from Karyna Camerino”s Canadian bakery.
