GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes has officially exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States, securing USD1.9bn in exit financing and maintaining approximately USD900m in liquidity.

The Abra Group now controls around 80pc of GOL’s capital following the restructuring, which includes a capital increase of BRL12.03bn (USD2.16bn) through the capitalisation of credits.

GOL’s fleet currently includes 138 aircraft and the airline expects to add five more B737-8s this year as part of its recovery strategy.

The company aims to have all aircraft operational by the first quarter of 2026, with an existing order for fifty-three B737-8s and twenty-five B737-10s.

Celso Ferrer stated that the airline has rationalised its fleet, optimised costs, and enhanced operational focus to achieve success in the future.
