Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery functions in Clonminch on the outskirts of Tullamore. Established in 2014 by William Grant & Sons as a purpose-built facility to produce Tullamore D.E.W. Irish whiskey, it continues the brand’s legacy that traces back to an earlier distillery in 1829. The operation employs triple distillation methods with pot stills and grain whiskey components, drawing water from the Slieve Bloom Mountains to create blended Irish whiskeys such as Tullamore D.E.W. Original and limited editions, with a focus on smooth character influenced by triple distillation and careful cask maturation, while the visitor experience includes tours of the still house, blending lab, and warehouse with 50,000 oak casks.
River Shannon Brewery operates as an artisan craft microbrewery in Banagher. This brewery produces a range of beers that draw on local history and the river setting to inform its output of ales and other styles in small batches. Bo Bristle Brewing Company began in Banagher within the Enterprise Centre. It carries forward brewing traditions in the town that date to the 19th century and focuses on hand-crafted beers produced in limited quantities.
Slieve Bloom Brewing Company, also known as Pikeman Brewing, commenced in 2018 on Main Street in Kinnitty. Founded by Kieran Clements, the brewery creates quality beers onsite at the Slieve Bloom Bar, with an emphasis on flavourful brews suited to the local area and available primarily through direct channels or the pub setting.
These facilities add to Offaly’s production of drinks through their use of regional resources and small-scale craft approaches.
