A Clare couple has been refused planning to continue public car park for cliffs of Moher visitors

Clare County Council has refused permission for a car park in Kilconnell, Liscannor.

The site served visitors to Hag’s Head and Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk. The council cited risks to the conservation interests of Cliffs of Moher Special Protection Area.

An earlier 2019 retention application received a split decision due to strategy conflicts. The development would add 23 parking spaces near the key tourist attraction.
