Cork County Council has issued a notice to the owners of the Central Hotel in Mallow, mandating the demolition of the remaining structure and site clearance, following an inspection under the Derelict Sites Act 1990.

The owners have eight weeks to carry out the required work, after an initial 14-day period for the owner to respond to the Council’s directives about the condition of the building.

The Central Hotel has been closed since 2007, enduring several fires that led to extensive damage, prompting ongoing speculation about the site’s future.
