Cork’s Imperial Hotel reopens Fitzgerald’s Bar amid celebration of 200-year history

Fitzgerald’s Bar has celebrated its grand opening at the Imperial Hotel Cork following a major refurbishment that honours the hotel’s 200-year history.

The launch event featured live entertainment, including a performance by Paul Harrington, and was attended by local dignitaries, including Lord Mayor Dan Boyle.

The luxurious redesign includes high ceilings with crystal chandeliers, an L-shaped wrap-around bar, and rich velvet furnishings, enhancing the bar’s elegant atmosphere.

Contributors to the event, including the Louis Fitzgerald family, anticipate Fitzgerald’s becoming a popular venue for jazz enthusiasts during the annual Cork Jazz Festival starting in October 2025.
