Croke Park is taking strides towards sustainability by promoting seasonally inspired and locally sourced food for meetings and events. They have introduced innovative menus that include a carbon ‘foodprint’ score for every dish, ensuring traceability and environmental consciousness. Additionally, Croke Park has launched a groundbreaking 50 Mile Menu, featuring ingredients sourced within a 50-mile radius of the venue.
The Meetings & Events team at Croke Park sources 85pc of their produce from Ireland, with 70pc coming from within a 50-mile radius, including their own farm. These menus not only reduce food miles and carbon footprints but also provide fresh and seasonal produce for events.
Croke Park is a world leader in sustainable events, being the first stadium in Ireland and Britain to achieve ISO14001 and ISO 20121 international standards. They have also established themselves as a zero-waste stadium by recycling, reusing, or recovering 100pc of their waste.
In addition to highlighting local suppliers, the new menus at Croke Park allow event organizers to have more control over the sustainability focus of their events. With these initiatives, Croke Park aims to make it easier for businesses to plan environmentally conscious and sustainable events while offering sensational menus.
