Jacobs attributed about €300m of this financial burden to inflation connected with the airport’s €2.3bn development plan.

He anticipates opposition to new legislation aimed at addressing the airport’s capacity issues.

The delays are causing significant setbacks in progressing essential projects necessary for accommodating increasing passenger numbers.

The DAA’s financial challenges highlight the urgent need for timely decisions on planning applications to support necessary expansions at Dublin Airport.

Mr Jacobs shared “Planning delays have already cost the DAA an estimated €500m over the last four years. About €300m is due to inflationary costs associated with a €2.3bn development plan.”
