Dublin Airport is to contact the owners of the former Quickpark in Santry to secure 6,122 additional car park spaces for this summer, without owning the site. The airport will continue to encourage passengers to use public transport due to high demand for car parking.
At a press conference in the Alex Hotel, managing Director Gary McLean highlights the commitment to keeping car parking prices in line with 2023 rates and increasing public transport options, with 1,000 buses daily servicing the airport. The airlines has introduced 300 new taxi permits.
The airport is expecting over 10m passengers this summer. The airport will open 23 new food and beverage outlets for the summer. Kenny Jacobs, CEO of airport operator daa, said: “we would still like to operate it this summer, we’ll be contacting the owners to ask if we can operate it so we can get additional spaces.”
