Dublin Airport is set to undergo a facelift of Terminal 1, originally opened in 1972, with approved plans for a new facade now open for tender.
The revamp will include changes to the core facade and roof, enhancing energy efficiency and improving the building’s energy rating from F to B3.
The project will involve removing outdated 1970s concrete fins and increasing glazing on the northern and southern sides of the terminal, aimed at reducing heat loss.
These facade upgrades are part of a long-term plan for Dublin Airport, with more details about the design to be shared soon.
