Dublin City Council restores artist studios at 16 Eustace Street

Dublin City Council confirmed the completion of refurbishment at 16 Eustace Street in Temple Bar restoring eight artist studios in the 18th-century townhouse. Works finished in December 2025 following the 2023 renovation of neighbouring 11 Eustace Street which added six studios. The conservation-led project preserved original features such as staircases and cornices while upgrading spaces for modern use.

The buildings, acquired in the 1990s by Temple Bar Properties, now operate under the Temple Bar Cultural Trust Project Team with management by Independent Artist Studios Ltd. Artists moved in during early January. The initiative supports Dublin’s creative community in the city centre.

Ray McAdam shared Celebrating Dublin means celebrating the people who give this city its colour, its edge, its stories, and our artists are at the very heart of that. Reopening 16 Eustace Street as high-quality studio space is more than the restoration of a beautiful historic building; it’s a statement of intent that creativity belongs in the centre of our capital, not pushed to the margins.
