France TV’s Échappées Belles films in l’actions across Ireland

French viewers will be able to tune in to the popular travel programme Échappées Belles which is filming at locations across Ireland this month with support from Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. 

The special Ireland episode is airing later this year on France 5 and is showcasing outdoor experiences, landscapes and warm hospitality to around 2m viewers per episode. Production crews are capturing footage at the Dingle Peninsula, Kerry Woollen Mills and Killarney National Park in Kerry.

The team is also filming at Westport House, Croagh Patrick and Murrisk Abbey in Mayo plus Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park and a sheepdog demonstration at Killary Sheep Farm in Galway. Filming is taking place at a GAA experience in Kilkenny, paranormal sessions in Kinnitty Castle Hotel in Offaly, Kinsale and Dursey Island in Cork and the Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough and the Glen of Imaal in Wicklow. Presenter Jérôme Pitorin is leading the crew during the shoots.

Barbara Wood speculated that the broadcast inspires travellers in France and elsewhere to add Ireland to their holiday wish-list as part of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity.

Barbara Wood shared “We were delighted to invite the crew from ‘Échappées Belles’ to come and film in Ireland. Around 2m people in France are expected to watch the special Ireland episode.”
