Gregans Castle Hotel in Ballyvaughan, County Clare has been recognised as the second Most Eco-Friendly Hotel in Europe by Big 7 Travel, following England’s Heckfield Place. Wren Urban Nest in Dublin was 19th.

The hotel actively promotes sustainable exploration, offering free bicycles, advocating for frequent bus service, organizing group walks, and participating in community clean-up efforts.

The ranking considers various criteria including food sourcing, community engagement, conservation efforts, and management of energy, waste, water, and materials, with another Irish hotel, Wren Urban Nest, ranking 19th.
