  • Passengers can rebook for free or request refunds.

Emerald Airlines, the operator of Aer Lingus Regional, has postponed the launch of its peak summer schedule from late March to late April or early May 2026. The company has attributed the delay to maintenance, repair and overhaul challenges with two ATR 72 aircraft. Difficulties in obtaining parts from aircraft manufacturer ATR have affected repairs identified during routine checks.

The deferral has impacted travel plans of over 20,000 passengers. New services to Exeter, Jersey and Doncaster-Sheffield have faced disruption as a result. Passengers have received options to rebook flights to later dates for free or request full cash refunds or travel vouchers.

Aer Lingus has contacted affected passengers directly via SMS, email or through their travel agents. The delay has coincided with separate reductions in mainline peak-season flights by Aer Lingus due to engine-overhaul issues.

Emerald Airlines shared “The delay is attributed to maintenance, repair, and overhaul challenges, specifically difficulties in obtaining parts from aircraft manufacturer ATR.”
