
Emirates airline has reported a record annual profit of 17.2bn dirhams (€4.4bn) for the 2023-2024 financial year, up 63pc from the previous year.
The airline carried 51.9 million passengers during the financial year, a 19pc increase from the year prior, with reported seat capacity up by 21pc.
Emirates has more than 300 passenger jets on order and does not plan to slow down its expansion, reflecting a consistently recovering travel sector and booming demand.
The Emirates Group, including the airline and dnata, saw its best-ever financial performance with a record profit of 18.7bn dirhams (€4.7bn), a 71pc increase from the previous year.
The group ended the financial year with its highest-ever cash balance of 47.1bn dirhams (€11.7bn) and declared a 4bn dirham dividend for its owner, the Investment Corporation of Dubai.
Dubai’s leadership approved a multi-billion dollar plan to build a new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport, showcasing the region’s commitment to expanding its aviation infrastructure.
