Dalata is to buy the Maldron in Cork for €8.1m & invest €13.2m in hotel development and refurbishment.

There were developments in the ongoing battle between hotels and OTAs this week. France and Germany have taken action against the controversial most favoured nation clauses in contracts between online travel agents and hotels. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has negotiated with some of the larger hotel booking sites to partially remove price parity clauses from their contracts with Australian hotels.

Nevgul Bilsel Safkan was appointed MD of technology and reservation solutions HotelsPro and will be responsible for the management of London, Shanghai, Orlando, Dubai and Istanbul offices.
