
IATA reports that in July 2024, global passenger demand saw an 8.0pc increase in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) compared to July 2023, with overall capacity rising by 7.4pc and a load factor of 86.0pc.
International travel demand rose by 10.1pc, while domestic demand increased by 4.8pc, highlighting a continued recovery in air travel across most regions, except Africa.
The Asia-Pacific region experienced the strongest international growth at 19.1pc, while North American airlines maintained the highest load factor at 89.4pc.
IATA’s Director General, Willie Walsh, emphasized the ongoing reliance on air travel and the need for suppliers to address persistent supply chain challenges to support continued growth and accessibility in the aviation sector.
