Ireland visitors to Portugal up 3.5pc in June and 33.8pc on pre pandemic

There were 72,664 visitors from Ireland to Portugal in June, up 3.5pc on 2024 and 33.8pc on pre pandemic. 

The tourist accommodation sector reported 3.1m guests and 8.1m overnight stays in June 2025, yielding €751.8m in total revenue. Revenue from accommodation reached €583.4m in June 2025, with growth rates of 7.6pc and 7.9pc, respectively.

Overnight stays growth was spurred by a rise in both resident (+5.8pc) and non-resident (+2.0pc) visitors, accumulating to 2.4m and 5.7m, respectively. Inbound markets showed varying performances, with Germany experiencing a 9.0pc increase and France a decrease of 8.2pc in overnight stays.
