Las Vegas released a 40-page report detailing the economic impact of last year’s Formula 1 race. The total economic impact of the race was $1.5bn with $884m in visitor spending, leading to $77m in tax revenue, the highest for any event in Las Vegas history.

F1 invested $88m in infrastructure. GP visitors spent an average of $4,100 and an average stay of 4.1 nights.

The event created 7,300 jobs, with $52m in wages for local workers, and the Las Vegas Airport was the second busiest airport in the country the day after the race, with 2,200 operations. Vegas officials state it was the largest sporting event in the city’s history, with the largest global audience, ensuring the return of F1 in the future.
