Lufthansa Group is seeking 19.9pc stake in TAP Air Portugal according to unconfirmed media reports.

Reports suggest the stake is valued at €180-200m and is part of the ailrine’s long awaited privatisation process.

Lufthansa plans to avoid takin a controlling stake to bypass EU approval.

CEO Carsten Spohr plans to meet with Portuguese officials in September to discuss the potential investment.

Other airlines like Air France-KLM and IAG also interested but have not commented
