Minister for Foreign Affairs Helen McEntee has launched a St Patrick’s Day digital media campaign to celebrate Ireland’s global reach and prepare for the country’s upcoming EU Presidency.
The 2026 programme highlights Ireland as a small, open trading economy, focusing on economic success, international partnerships, and multilateralism. A central campaign video featuring diverse Irish voices and a message of hope is being shared across the Department of Foreign Affairs’ social media channels (X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube).
The campaign specifically showcases the strength of Irish communities in Europe ahead of Ireland taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from July to December 2026. The digital push supports a physical programme where 40 state representatives are visiting over 50 countries to engage with political, business, and diaspora leaders.
Minister McEntee and Minister of State for the Diaspora, Neale Richmond, emphasised that this year’s messaging is intended to provide a sense of connection and hope during a “turbulent and unsettling time” globally. The campaign also aims to promote Ireland as a premier destination for trade, investment, and education
The initiative celebrates Ireland’s global connections, themes of hope, and cultural reach at a time of international challenges, with promotions active across overseas markets.
