The Shelbourne hotel in Dublin is set for a €50m renovation scheduled to commence in October 2025.
This renovation follows a previous €35m refurbishment and occurs shortly after the hotel completes the celebration of its 200th anniversary at the end of 2024. Archer Hotel Capital acquired The Shelbourne from Kennedy Wilson for approximately €240m in March 2024.
The refurbishment will focus on 226 guestrooms, with designs led by Irish designer Bryan O’Sullivan, known for his work on London hotels. The interiors will feature works by Irish artist Louis le Brocquy and collaborations with Dublin’s Kerlin Gallery.
Bryan O’Sullivan shared, “The Shelbourne is a historically important building, not just for Dublin, but for Ireland. From the beginning, we have approached this project with an aspiration to honour the legacy of the building.”
JP Kavanagh shared, “It has been a privilege to escort this great lady through her 200th year. With the owners’ investment, it will preserve the hotel’s legacy while further enhancing our offering.”
