The sale of the Nuremore Hotel & Country Club in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan to a consortium led by the McGettigan family for €6m has been confirmed by CBRE.

The hotel closed its doors in 2023 due to insolvency, with the High Court winding up its management company after it failed to meet revenue obligations.

Plans for the property include a comprehensive refurbishment, aiming to create over 100 jobs while revamping facilities such as the golf course, restaurant, and leisure center.

The investor group intends to focus on sustainability and collaborate with local authorities to transform the Nuremore into a key leisure destination, featuring enhanced hospitality services like a McGettigan’s Pub and eco-friendly practices.
