The O’Callaghan family are to purchase the Keadeen hotel in Newbridge, Co Kildare, from current owners, the O’Loughlin family.

The family have owned and run the  69-bedroom hotel since it was opened n 1970 by brothers Joe and Eddie O’Loughlin with their wives Rose and Teresa. Joe and Rose are both graduates of Shannon College of Hotel Management. The agreement marks the sale of one of Ireland’s well-known family-owned hotels to another family-owned hotel group.

The O’Callaghan family are currently owners of The Fairways Hotel and The Gateway Hotel in Dundalk.

The original house was where Bing Crosby stayed when it was owned by P. J. Prendergast in 1965 after winning the Derby with Meadow Court.
