
Construction for a new Premier Inn on Fitton Street in Cork City will be delayed pending a decision from An Bórd Pleanála.
Cork City Council granted conditional planning permission for the 220-bed hotel in May.
Objections were raised regarding sewage discharge and architectural sensitivity, from Inland Fisheries Ireland and Irish Water.
Cork hosted 900,000 overseas visitors in 2023. A decision on the project by An Bórd Pleanála is expected by October 20, 2025.
Peppard Investments Limited, which is currently developing the site, will now have to await a decision from An Bórd Pleanála.
