
Plans to pedestrianise the old bridge linking Ballina in Tipperary to Killaloe in Clare were proposed for the period from July 28 to the first week of October.
Traffic flows on the old bridge decreased from 8,500 journeys to around 4,500 after the new bridge opened a month ago.
The old bridge, built in the 18th century, has one laneway and uses a traffic light system for vehicles.
A public submission process will allow community members to voice their opinions once notices are published in local newspapers.
