Hoteliers in Paris are cutting rates and reducing minimum stay requirements during the Olympics due to weak demand.

Average hotel prices in Paris during the games have decreased to €258 per night, down from €342 earlier in the summer.

The initial price of €342 represented a 70pc increase from the average price of €202 in July 2023.

The Paris Tourist office has reported the decrease in prices in response to criticism of price gouging.
