Air Canada is set to launch non-stop international flights from Ottawa to London’s Heathrow Airport starting March 31, 2025, operating four times weekly with its Dreamliner fleet.
The flights will depart Ottawa for London on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and vice versa. The service aims to meet the demand for various travel purposes and provide convenient international travel options for customers.
The decision to reintroduce this route comes after Mayor Mark Sutcliffe’s efforts to expand overseas flights from Ottawa, aiming to boost the local economy, increase tourism, and facilitate travel between two world capitals.
This new route complements Air Canada’s plans to significantly expand its services out of Ottawa, with up to 229 weekly flights to and from the capital, including destinations such as Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Halifax, and various U.S. cities.

Ireland’s new ambassador to Canada, John Concannon, arrived in Ottawa to take up his new rule. The official behind the Wild Atlantic Way scheme in 2014, he will be the key note speaker at the IGTIC conference on September 25.
Mayor Mark Sutcliffe said “Ottawa residents and business owners have been hoping and calling for a return of direct non-stop service to London. The restored flight will boost our local economy, increase tourism, and connect two world capitals. It will make it easier for residents to travel abroad, tourists to visit Ottawa, and businesses to launch and expand in our city.”
Mark Galardo, executive vice president – revenue and network planning at Air Canada, said” with continued demand for visiting friends, relatives, leisure and tourism, as well as supporting business and corporate travel, this route gives customers from both the National Capital Region and abroad direct, convenient international travel options to and from Ottawa,”
