Peter Bellew is leaving his role as COO of Riyadh Air after nearly three years with the airline, which plans to start scheduled flights later this year.

The airline recently postponed its launch to 2025 due to supply chain issues with Boeing, aiming to establish Riyadh as a traffic hub by serving 100 destinations by 2030.

Backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Riyadh Air will become the second flag-carrier, alongside Saudia, with a fleet goal of up to 200 jets.

Bellew’s departure is marked by his reflection on the rewarding experience of acquiring a new airline licence and building a team in Saudi Arabia.

Peter Bellew shared: “Getting a new widebody airline licence, launching an airline, and building a super team was fascinating.”
