Some April Fools’ ruses form the travel industry:
- The passenger cap debate took on a new meaning at Dublin airport on April Fool’s day 2025 when they shared: Passengers should note that, as of today, caps can no longer be worn at Dublin Airport. Caps & national airports don’t go well together & must be removed prior to entering the terminals. The ban does not apply to bobble hats, stetsons or bucket hats.

- The owner of the Rock Salt café in Blackrock in Dundalk, Daniel McLoughlin, shared a post announcing that his coffee shop was going completely caffeine-free.
- Duolingo announced an unexpected partnership with Carnival Cruise Line to launch a five-year global cruise, allowing guests to learn multiple languages during their journey.
- Introducing a surprising new menu item: Chocolate Dressed Fries, created in collaboration with Icelandair UP TO DATE, offering passengers the chance to enjoy “in-flight dates”!

- Carnival Cruise Line is launching a brand-new ship named Carnival Gufo for the voyage, where passengers can partake in familiar onboard activities such as top-notch entertainment, exquisite dining, themed nights, and more as it travels from port to port.
- FlightRadar24 sent out a notification claiming the iconic Concorde was airborne on a British Airways flight from London to New York.
- Air Transat updated its website to showcase a world map proclaiming, “The Atlantic Ocean is now officially the Canadien Ocean.”

- Tampa International Airport tweeted about Phoebe, the resident giant flamingo, breaking free from her enclosure at 8:47 AM and being sighted around the Tampa Bay area.
- Virgin Voyages and Virgin Records collaborated to launch “Jam at Sea,” a celebration of not only delicious jams and preserves but also their partnership with musician Nicky Jam.
- Saga Cruises, aimed at guests aged 50 and over, announced time travel aboard the Spirit of Disco, previously known as Spirit of Discovery, featuring a sun deck dedicated to roller skating and crew uniforms revamped into stylish three-piece white suits with medallions.
- Fred. Olsen Cruises laimed they had to retract the so-called “leaked” footage of an aircraft featuring their livery, suggesting the cruise line was venturing into the airline sector.
