Whitbread, the owner of Premier Inn, has announced plans for a new hotel in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, featuring 229 standard and Premier Plus rooms, with a ground floor restaurant and bar.
The ten-storey property on Rochdale Road is part of Whitbread’s strategy to reconfigure its network of hotels in Manchester’s city centre, aligning with their perfect portfolio investment strategy to offer the right number of rooms in key locations.
The development adds to Whitbread’s existing six Premier Inn hotels in Manchester and signifies their commitment to expanding their presence in the city to meet guest demand and maintain their investment in the area.
Paul Smith, property acquisition manager for Whitbread, emphasized the company’s long-standing investment in Manchester and the importance of the Rochdale Road development in expanding their presence and meeting guest needs in the city.
Paul Smith, property acquisition manager for Whitbread, said: “Whitbread is a long-standing investor in Manchester with six popular Premier Inn hotels across the city centre and many more across the city region. In line with our perfect portfolio investment strategy, we are in the process of reconfiguring our network of hotels across central Manchester to ensure we have the right number of bedrooms in the right parts of the city centre for our guests. Our investment in the Rochdale Road development site brings another 229-bedrooms into our secured development pipeline in a part of the city centre we wish to expand our presence. The location ticks all the boxes for our guests and with Whitbread’s direct involvement in the scheme, we can guarantee the development will now proceed at pace.”
