Ryanair got just 15 of 24 Boeing aircraft promised for summer 2024 and it looks like 20 out of 29 next summer’, according to Michael O’Leary in an interview with Eoghan Corry editor of Travel Extra.
Ryanair additions to the register in July included EI-IJV, EI-IJX, EI-IJY, EI-IJZ and EI-IKA.
He said: Boeing is breaking our balls. They were supposed to deliver us 24 aircraft this summer. We are going to get, we’ve received about 15 of them by the end of July, and the balance of nine will come in August and September. But it’s too late for us to be able to use them, but we’ll take them anyway because at least we’ll have them for next summer.
We were supposed to receive seven aircraft in July 2024, but we only got five. We were supposed to get eight in August, but now we will only receive four. So, we are now through the summer peak, and there are, at least from now on, if there are delays, it doesn’t matter.
Our big focus now is, we were supposed to get 29 aircraft between February and April of next year. And already, Boeing is talking about delivering those from March to July. So, we’re kind of jumping up and down, sod off with your July, we want them in April, May, June. We will get 20 aircraft with that.
We have loaded the summer schedules for next year. I’m sure we may not have loaded 100pc of it because I’m sure there are some kind of airport negotiations still ongoing. But I think the core of it, 80-90pc of it is already loaded.
