SAS has officially joined the SkyTeam alliance, becoming its 20th active member after transitioning from Star Alliance in October 2023.

Air France-KLM took a stake in SAS as part of the transition, and since then, SAS has successfully completed restructuring proceedings and exited US Chapter 11 protection and Swedish company reorganisation.

With SAS on board, SkyTeam now serves the southernmost (Ushuaia, Argentina) and northernmost (Svalbard, Norway) commercial airports in the world, offering codeshare agreements with Air France-KLM and potential collaborations with other SkyTeam members.

EuroBonus members of SAS can now earn and redeem points across most SkyTeam airlines, with Gold and Diamond members receiving SkyPriority services and lounge access, while EuroBonus Silver members are recognised as SkyTeam Elite members and Gold and Diamond members attain Elite Plus status. SkyTeam CEO Patrick Roux highlighted the alliance’s commitment to delivering a seamless travel experience through collaboration and teamwork.
