The second day of Rendez Vous en France takes place today in Lyon. France anticipates a continued increase in tourism in 2025, following over 100m international visitors in 2024.

Paris is benefitting from the “Olympics Games Effect” with a projected 16pc rise in air arrivals this quarter and urban beach developments along the Seine.

The Notre-Dame Cathedral reopened with new visitor offerings post-restoration, drawing crowds to experience its historical architecture.

Sustainability initiatives in 2025 include new energy performance standards for short-term rentals and expanded low-carbon travel options in eco-focused areas like the Alps.

Key cultural celebrations include the Palais Garnier’s 150th anniversary and the reopening of Caen’s château, complemented by significant exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou before its renovation.

Atout France hosted its “French Evening 2025” last night at the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, an architectural gem, themed “Spotlight on France.” This marks the first occasion that the Grand Hôtel-Dieu has opened its doors for such an event, providing inspiration for event management professionals. Guests will explore various French destinations were represented in distinct areas of the building:

  • “Exclusive, Elegant France” in the Academy by Intercontinental
  • “France from Here and Beyond” in the St. Louis Courtyard
  • “Eclectic, Creative, Trendy France” in the Great Cloister
  • “France of Seas and Oceans” in the Great Refectory
  • “Festive and Friendly France” in the Cité de la Gastronomie

Each room featured a unique atmosphere, entertainment such as wall dance performances, a dance parade, concerts, and a photo booth, along with culinary specialties from various regions.

Rendez Vous en France brought together 1,950 tourism professionals, including 817 international opinion leaders from 62 countries and 704 French exhibitors.
