Security staff at Toronto Pearson airport have set a strike deadline for Saturday at midnight over wage and working condition concerns

Garda World, the company employing the workers, is still negotiating with the Canadian Airport Workers Union to reach a collective agreement

WestJet has cancelled around 40 flights ahead of a possible strike by its plane mechanics, affecting 6,500 travellers

WestJet has requested arbitration by the Canada Industrial Relations Board to resolve the contract dispute with the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association, with federal mediators currently working with both parties.\

Canadian border patrol have called off a scheduled strike.
