Spanish tourism is on alert after US President Donald Trump announced a potential commercial rupture with Spain and criticised bilateral ties following Prime Minister Pedro Sanchezs refusal to authorise American naval use of the Rota base.

Trump remarked that Spain has nothing we want and described it as a terrible ally raising concerns that the message could deter American visitors. The United States remains a vital market with over 4.5m tourists arriving in twenty twenty five and spending ten point two billion euros.
