Christmas travel from 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 carried more than 3,000 passengers, up 30pc. The airline launched Cork Airport flights in 2025. SunExpress shared in a written statement “SunExpress, the joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, has reported a strong passenger performance from Ireland in 2025, carrying more than 110,000 passengers and recording a year-on-year growth of 34pc. The airline transported a total of over 110,000 passengers from Ireland during the year, up from over 82,000 in 2024, underlining Türkiye’s continued appeal as one of the leading holiday destinations for travellers from Ireland. SunExpress also saw demand increase during the peak Christmas travel period (20th December 2025, 4th January 2025) from Ireland. The airline carried more than 3,000 passengers, representing a 30pc increase compared with over 2,500 the previous festive season (21st December 2024, 5th January 2025). Growth has been driven by the airline’s strong joint-venture foundation and its expanding route network, which launched flights from Cork Airport in 2025. In 2026, SunExpress will continue operations from both Cork and Dublin airports, alongside the introduction of a new twice-weekly Cork–Antalya route.”
