Travelodge has announced agreements to acquire 11 existing properties in England, with a focus on targeting rebrand opportunities.
The budget hotel group is set to acquire nine former Hotel Campanile properties located in cities including Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester, adding 951 rooms to its portfolio.
Travelodge has exchanged contracts on two additional properties in Bromsgrove and Wakefield, with openings scheduled for May and August respectively.
The group recently opened its 85th London hotel in Chiswick, showcasing its latest generation room design and facilities such as the 85 Bar Café.
Steve Bennett shared, “The acquisition of these hotels marks another positive step in our English development strategy, reflecting the group’s commitment to expanding its footprint. Acquisitions of properties which can be rebranded to Travelodge are a key part of our development strategy, as we look to continue to grow our footprint. We have a requirement to open over a further 300 hotels, and are seeking prime opportunities when they become available.”
