Turkish Airlines is seeking to acquire Lufthansa’s 50pc stake in SunExpress, offering at least €1.25bn as of 5 November 2025.
SunExpress reported €2.2bn revenue and €164m net profit in 2024, carrying 15m passengers with 88 aircraft.
The move aims to integrate SunExpress for expanded Europe-Middle East routes, including Syrian airspace opportunities.
Lufthansa has resisted the sale, confident in SunExpress profitability, while Turkish Airlines pursues broader growth after Air Europa talks.
