Fingal council allows planning permission for Dublin airport viewing area

Dublin Airport has been granted planning permission by Fingal County Council for improved public viewing facilities to watch aircraft landings and takeoff.

The new viewing area will replace the existing muddy grass mound on Old Airport Road, providing a comfortable and safe space with views of two runways.

The planned facility will include dedicated car parking for families and those with reduced mobility, bike parking, and an elevated platform with seating.

daa will finance the construction as part of their commitment to support the local community, with the facility designed to enhance public enjoyment and safety.

Initiatives like the €2 million Elevate ’25 School Support Programme and the gifting of an eight-hectare habitat demonstrate daa’s efforts to contribute positively to the surrounding community.
